Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect
When you sign in, we collect the information provided by your authentication method (email address, display name, and profile photo) via Firebase Authentication (Google Cloud). When you create projects and post updates, we store the project data, update text, categories, and progress percentages you provide in Cloud Firestore.
2. Photo Storage
Photos you upload as part of project updates are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Photos are associated with your account and the specific project update. Photos included in public status pages are accessible to anyone with the shareable project link. When you delete an update or project, associated photos are permanently removed from storage.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to:
- Authenticate your account and secure your dashboard
- Store and display your project data, updates, and photos
- Generate public status pages accessible via shareable links
- Pre-fill your information across sessions for convenience
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Public Status Pages
When you create a project and share its link, the project name, address, progress percentage, update text, category tags, and any uploaded photos become publicly accessible to anyone with the link. No authentication is required to view a public status page. You can delete a project at any time to remove its public page.
5. Third-Party Services
- Firebase Authentication — account sign-in and session management (Google Cloud)
- Cloud Firestore — project and update data storage (Google Cloud)
- Cloudflare R2 — photo and image file storage
- Netlify — website hosting and CDN
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication state (Firebase Auth tokens). We do not use tracking cookies or analytics cookies.
7. Data Retention
Your project data and photos are retained as long as your account exists. You can delete individual projects, updates, and photos at any time through the dashboard. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at buildpdf.help@gmail.com.
8. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication is managed by Firebase Auth with industry-standard security practices. Firestore security rules ensure users can only access their own project data. Photos are served over encrypted connections.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of BuildStatus after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
