Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using BuildStatus ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Service Description

BuildStatus allows contractors and service providers to create shareable project status pages. You can post project updates, upload photos, track completion progress, and share a public link with your clients. The public status page is accessible to anyone with the link.

3. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including all project data and updates posted. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

4. Content Accuracy

Contractors are responsible for the accuracy of all content posted to their project status pages, including update descriptions, progress percentages, photos, and project details. BuildStatus does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of any content posted by users. Clients should treat status pages as informational and confirm critical details directly with their contractor.

5. Prohibited Use

You may not use BuildStatus to:

• Post fake or misleading progress updates — inflating progress percentages, using photos from other projects, or fabricating completion milestones
• Engage in fraudulent activity — using status pages to deceive clients about work performed, materials used, or project timelines for financial gain
• Upload illegal, obscene, or harmful content
• Impersonate another person or business
• Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law
• Attempt to access another user's account or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination without notice.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all content you upload, including photos, text, and project data. By uploading content, you grant BuildStatus a limited license to store, display, and serve that content for the purpose of operating the Service — including displaying it on public status pages you have created. This license ends when you delete the content.

7. Free and Paid Plans

BuildStatus offers a free tier with limited features and a paid Pro tier with expanded capabilities. We reserve the right to modify pricing, features, and plan limits at any time. Changes to paid plans will be communicated to subscribers before taking effect.

8. Limitation of Liability

BuildStatus is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to disputes between contractors and clients, data loss, service interruptions, or inaccurate content posted by users. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your project data and photos will be permanently deleted.
